Notes on the CD packaged with the text:

1. If you are using the first printing of the text,
all subdirectories on the CD that came with that
printing contain a .svn file. None of these files
should be on the CD. Subversion is a version control
software program, and these are Subversion "meta-data"
files. Just ignore them. These files should not be
present if you are using the second or a later printing
of the text.

2. This second note is independent of which printing
of the text you are using. You need to be aware of the
following if you are using a browser to "surf" the
.html files directly from the cdrom subdirectory on
the CD. Whenever SSI (Server Side Includes) or PHP
are being used, a browser cannot display the files
properly unless they are actually being served by a
server that is SSI-aware or PHP-aware, as the case
may be (and so those files will not display properly
when viewed directly from the CD). This includes all
versions of the Nature's Source web site starting with
the nature3 version of Chapter 3 (cdrom/web03/nature3).
[The nature1 and nature2 versions in Chapter 3 should
display as intended when viewed directly from the CD.]
It may even be the case that your particular server 
will insist on different file extensions, such as
.shtml instead of .html when you wish to use SSI.
